Piedrasassi

Started in 2003 by Sashi Moorman, Piedrasassi primarily cultivates and vinifies wines from Syrah. Sashi’s engagement with Syrah is informed equally by the viticultural heritage of the Northern Rhône and the pioneering ethos of the Central Coast.

Piedrasassi wines are organized by the appellation from which they come, with each specific lieu-dit called out on the label.

Piedrasassi is one of my favorite wineries in California. Sashi Moorman has the magic touch, and not just when it comes to his own wines at Piedrasassi and Domaine de la Cote, but also those that he makes for Sandhi and Stolpman.
