NICK DE LUCA

DIrector of WInery Operations

A Californian by birth (but a New Englander by training), Nick headed back to the Golden State in high school and hasn’t been able to give up the warm, West Coast sunshine ever since. While studying French, Spanish, and Italian at UCSC, Nick was drawn into the culture of wine through his love of languages. He ultimately took his first industry job as a cellar hand in Sonoma County during the mid-90s, then moved to Santa Barbara County in 2004 to pursue a career in winemaking.

Nick’s experience spans some of the country’s most renowned wineries, including Fisher Vineyards, Williams-Selyem, Dierberg/Star Lane, Alma Rosa, and Bien Nacido. Ensuring that winery operations run at the highest level is one of his truest passions—a close third behind his love for his family and mountain bikes. On days where he’s not walking the vineyard or stalking the cellar, you can find him in the Santa Barbara backcountry on two wheels.
